Ayusai Dam is situated in the basin of the River Urken Almaty. The construction of the Ayusai Dam is to provide engineering protection from mudflows and landslides to the population and facilities of the Nauryzbay, Auezov and Alatau districts of Almaty located in the mudflow hazardous zone.
